I mean, it's only a three hour train ride on the TGV from where I live. So many cool cars to see at the Auto Show this year...

Instead of buying a TGV ticket, why don't you save money, buy a new car, and drive there?

I still find it weird that I can say that too. I live in London BTW.

It's like saying I can get out of my apartment, sit in a TGV in Aix, and get out of (almost the same) the train a few hours later in London.

And I just learned I can get a 25% (up to 35%) discount on the train ticket IF I go the Auto Show. I hope that discount adds up to my student discount I already have.

It's just under two hours for me, though I'd have to pay more than I'm really willing to shell out for a day trip. I can get to France for about £3, but only if I leave my car at home. :-(

I wouldn't go either if it was just a day trip, but since I have some close freinds I haven't seen in a while on Paris, I'll use the opportunity.

Ah, now that is the trick. The only continental European country I've friends in is Luxembourg. :-(

It's an odd feeling, isn't it? My first response upon reading this post was, 'Lucky you', but then I remembered that I live next to a GIANT TUNNEL UNDER THE SEA; it's less than two hours' journey for me.

I miss the days when we had one of the drills displayed at the entrance to town.
